So, as you know I was midway through a blackguard build. Well, this week a friend offered me this Baja for a pretty unbelievable (stupid) price as he's not using it and has lots of guitars. I didn't need to think about it. It's the lightest and most resonant Baja I've ever seen: 6.5lbs!!! Sounds incredible and the neck is gorgeous. It's also mint.
I was never that into them in the past because I guess I played a dog or something, but this sounds badass.
So, I have a lot of parts from this build now that will be hitting the classifieds. To be honest, I don't really have the inclination to finish it now; someone else should enjoy that body and neck.
I have a set of pickups from Ash
@oil city but the stock bridge pickup is so good on this that I can't imagine improving on it. I will definitely put his Mighty Ninety in as soon as I can find someone with a router. I also have a Bakelite guard with the correct routing that I'll use.
I'll also get the electrosocket and klusons in asap.
You've all seen a Baja before but here we are anyway:

Careful it doesn't float away!
Just a quick video I knocked up with the iPhone camera but you get the idea.
Loving the Baja, man. Nice playing too, how's the neck? I still fancy one.
Thanks for the complement, the neck is wonderful. Fat, a touch of V but less shoulder than the TMO FAT. Eminently playable. Medium jumbo frets, very nicely finished.
Just awesome guitars.
Just put the Electrosocket in it, what a cool and easy mod that is. I've had those old fashioned Tele jack cups fall out in the past and getting them back in is not fun.
Might try the Oil City Thames Delta tomorrow.
