Surprised an Iron Maiden guitar wouldn't include the extra overhang...

Me too - I'm pretty impressed with the street price too.  Underneath I imagine it is a Mexican Standard Strat chassis, but compound radius board and it certainly looks the part.

I'd have liked 22 frets personally, but realise Dave's only has 21 which, conveniently for Fender, fits the Mexican Standard template rather well.

I've coveted his American Sig for ages now but it's out of my price range but that new one is very tempting.I'm still planning on building a replica of his Kossoff Strat hopefully sometime this year.

His Kossoff Strat has 21, IIRC his current stage guitars (custom shop) on which that is based are 22.

Not my kind of thing (Floyd, pearloid plate), but if I was playing that kind of music I'd favour it over yer typical plastic-looking Superstrat.
and good to see Murray get another sig model. Always seems like an absolute gent and as far from arrogant Rock Star as you can get.

I have to admit that I like my strats 'stratty' - no FR, pups that look like strat pups etc.

Dave's school report - Started badly, got better. Room for improvement.

I must be honest, I very much prefer his older signature model (do they still make it?) with a vintage bridge and full-sized humbuckers.

But if I was forced to have a guitar with a Floyd Rose, I'd prefer it on a proper Strat than anything more "modern".
