Cabinet speaker change advice needed

What's Hot
I recently picked up an Egnater Rebel cabinet and thought I'd have a play around with a different speaker.  I unscrewed the back panel but it wouldn't shift.  Any suggestions?

I want to be careful to avoid breaking or damaging the cables to the jack plate and I presume there won't be much length to play with.  Is it common practice to leave the jack plate connected while changing a speaker?

The easiest thing to do is undo the jack plate, then undo the jack from it and drop it back into the cabinet, then use the hole to pull the back panel off. That way you won't chew up the vinyl or stress the wires.
