New pedulz for me - sitrep

I have acquired these pedals in an effort to make @GavHaus sleep with me. I generally avoid such displays of public affection but I simply can't help myself.  I've been watching too much Minnaars at Reading/Leeds 2009. Hopefully this meagre little collection will at least provoke a twitch.

Been looking for a while at the VS-XO. How is it? I had a 4 jack King Of Tone ages ago and it was a great feature. Need to check one out.

The black one is the Visual Sound vsxo. It's a dual drive pedal with quite a lot of flexibility it seems. Plus it was only 100 quid off eBay.

OK so I FINALLY got a chance to play these for the first time today (apart from Apocalypse, which I have played and was very impressed by), albeit only through my eleven rack. First impressions:

Visual Sound VS XO

Cracking overdrive.  The right side (first circuit) has a clean mix knob which allows you to dial in the exact amount of hair that you want. Exactly what I wanted.  The left side (second circuit) is not as nice sounding alone, but both circuits in series gives a wonderful crunch. Again, exactly what I wanted.  Its a keeper.

EQD Hummingbird.

Really like this. Choppy and percussive. Not exactly sure where it should go in signal chain. I was running it into delay and reverb and when both of those were on it kind of got lost.  Better at the end of the chain?

OBNE Black Fountain

Honestly, not up to my high expectations of it. That said it is an enjoyable delay. Its very dark to my ears  and seems to work better for clean and slightly gritty tones. Build quality could be better too. The 9v jack doesn't line up very well with the hole in the casing and it doesn't feel particularly robust.  I will persevere with it as it is something different, but its unlikely to be the sole source of my delay needs.

Mr Black Eterna Gold

Bat shit crazy pedal. Clearly capable of some lusciously big sounds, but needs to be tamed and doesn't like dirty stuff up it.  Again, definitely one I will persevere with. I think its one that would sound better 'in a room' rather than into my eleven rack.

I was thinking that a Dispatch Master would probably step on the Black Fountain and Eterna's toes but having played them now I think there is room for one, so will keep an eye out for a used jobber.

@RMJ - The EQD DM is simply stunning, but i do love my OBNE Black Fountain. I think its unique in a sterile delay world... I agree about the jack not lining up though...
