New York, New York, so good they named it twice.

....as Gerard Kenny so wisely said.  I don't know if that was before or after he co-wrote the Minder theme tune for Dennis Waterman.

What I find odd is whenever I've been to a gig of a long-established rock band (name any one of them), and I'm guaranteed to see one of the usual metal meatheads strolling around with that band's T-shirt from the 1982 tour, yet it's in absolutely perfect condition. What the fuck do they do? Store them and only wheel them out to wear at specific band gigs?

I worked with a bloke who, every single fucking stock check wore his 1977 Status Quo T-shirt, without fail.

He was also the wanker who would, about half-way through stock checking come and say "I need parts A,B,C etc to get this job done" even though parts were closed.

Saw a girl in a Joy Division one earlier and asked her if she was a fan - she looked at me oddly and asked 'what's Joy Division?'

    You should have told her.

and I don't mean the band.

don't buy many CD's anymore and I still like to have album artwork so often a T-shirt is the best way

    I wouldn't wear a shirt of a band I wasn't into. I think it's a bit weird.
I've got one of these, though:

I remember the wife once seeing a PRS t-shirt, thinking it looked nice, and asking if I fancied one. I was like, "Why would I? I don't own a PRS guitar."
I stopped wearing my Fender belt after I sold the Tele, too..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

My next door neighbour has got one of those enormous Harley Davidson belt buckles, and drives a Mondeo. That did it for me.

Or someone is trying to cling on and ride the back of someone else's notoriety.  I might wear a T shirt with an artist, if it had a good quote on it though, rather than a band name.  It's like CBGB T shirts.  You ever been to LA?
I wear CBGB T-shirts, and have never been to LA.

I have been to New York though, where CBGB actually is :/

My youngest son wears a Brentford shirt all the time and has never played for Brentford.

My eldest son wears a Shaun Of The Dead T shirt and wasn't even in the film.

What a pair of wankers, eh?

You do realise letting an under 18 wear a Brentford shirt is child abuse in most countries.

I don't have any band T-shirts left except the one which has the band's name on the front and 'CREW' on the back.
