Strymon Editors

What's Hot
Hey folks, anyone that has Timeline, Mobius or BigSky from Strymon might be interested in trying out the Editor applications I've developed.

These are PC based and will allow you to do a lot more with these pedals than you can do with the Strymon Librarian.

The latest (self-updating) version can be found here:-
StrymonEditors_1001

User Guide can be found here to give an idea of functionality...

The history of development can be found here along with lots of support info.

These are very stable for me on Windows 7 64bit, but there can be a lot of variance across different MIDI interfaces. I currently use Edirol UA-1000 interface, Behringer BCF2000 and an M-Audio Uno all of which work well on my machine, although there can be driver issues with the M-Audio Uno.

The Editor is a Windows only application

There is no Mac version, and I personally will not be developing one, as I don't have any Mac stuff...

NB This version now requires .Net 4.5 in addition to .Net 4

This sounds interesting. I'll have a look at it sometime when I can find the time.

    FAIL
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Thanks for this.  I saw the thread on TGP when you were developing it.  Welcome to the forum.

It has been confirmed by multiple users on TGP to work on a Virtual Box Windows vm on Mac, which is a possible workaround...

Cheers! TGP is great, but it feels nice to be on a UK based forum! Don't know how I missed this... :)

Not for me as I only use Macs. However, what can it do a lot more of as you say than Strymon's own Librarian out of interest?

You can actually edit the presets rather than just store/backup. See below image, which shows the Timeline UI - all the knobs can be edited on the PC just like a VST plugin (mouse, scroll wheel, etc), and if you are connected via MIDI, all changes will be sent via MIDI CC real-time to the pedal - much easier for editing than going into the sub menus as everything is right in front of you.image

    Brief list of functionality IMO:-
    1. Fetch and Push presets to and from the Editor to the Pedal if connected via MIDI. If not connected save changes to file.
    2. Preset Rename much faster than using Pedal interface
    3. Direct Time entry for delays
    4. Preset backup and restore (similar functionality as Librarian)
    5. Key Commands for really fast editing
    6. Access to Looper functions that you can't get unless you have a Disaster Area controller (e.g. Reverse, Half-Time)
    7. 'Cloud' Preset sharing - basic upload / download of presets with Tagging options (beta functionality)
    8. If you have more than one of the Strymon 'big 3' you can daisy chain them and edit complimentary patches very quickly

Above all you can edit very quickly and it saves your back!

I'm sure I've missed some stuff, the User Guide link above covers everything...

Yeah sometimes the computer at work here double posts for me which is really really annoying. Shame you don't do a Mac version 'cos my household doesn't have a PC in it :(
