Plectrum Goblins?

What's Hot
equalsqlequalsql Frets: 6374
It seems to me that I have a plectrum goblin in my house who comes out at night and nicks any picks he finds lying around. I have a pot on the mantelpiece which I keep all my small guitar related bits and pieces in including plectrums however no matter how many times I put the picks in it, there never seem to be any there when I need them.

Lord knows the number of plectrums I've bought over the years should have filled the house by now, but can I find one whenI need it? Not a hope.
I look down the back of the chairs, dig through the draws, check the guitar cases and nada, nout, not a sausage and I always end up reverting to using a 5p coin. Perhaps Brian May was the first person to realise that the goblins are not interested in coinage and by opting to use a sixpence he knew he would never have to deal with this problem.

Perhaps a mousetrap by the pleccy-pot will catch the blighter?

Is that a relation to the Lead Gremlin? That little guy sneaks in and takes neatly coiled cables turning them into a random mess (which I assume makes a cosy nest).

I think the lead gremlin is the plectrum goblin's brother. They are both sons of the biro snatcher (he's the father) and the spectacles hider (she's the mother).

I sometimes wonder if it's a cunning plan by the missus in the hope that eventually I'll get so frustrated that I give up the instrument and sell all my guitars..

Someone once told me he had someone round to fix a non-working washing machine.  The guy presented him with a big pile of plectrums that were clogging it up.

Personally I check my pockets before I put something to wash.

By the way, on a sort of unrelated note, don't buy a Zanussi.  Horribly engineered and use the most useless courier service in the world to deliver spare parts.

That's weird. I have precisely the opposite problem, with picks appearing all other the place. Pisses the missus right off.

@speshul91 then wise up and start using thinner picks for bass ;) Thinner picks, mean the string doesn't go as sharp when playing. buy a compressor and set it with a really hard attack and you will get all the attack of using a heavy pick, with none of the drawbacks.

I never use a pick - should I be worried about the finger goblin?
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it
