Black Custom through a Blackstar and no wah... and it still sounds bloody good if you've got the chops...

I know I've posted this before, but it's still worth doing again…

The late, great Shawn Lane. I'm not normally a fan of 'overblown' covers, but this one is amazing because of how he gets completely inside the original part, then just takes it to a totally different level.

Many years ago someone on the John petrucci forum posted a sound file of them playing Vai's For the love of God on a Les Paul. It was amazing, and didn't feel any less for lack of whammy bar.

That's a cover of, in my opinion, the greatest cover ever made of a Dylan song by Jimi Hendrix.

  • Awesome cover on an unlikely/inappropriate guitar? I think this takes some beating: (I know it's been posted before).

He's bloody brilliant.I thought he was playing on the neck pickup at times until I checked the switch position and noticed he plays on the bridge all the way through.

    Great touch.
