Black T-Cut, bullhonky?

Has anyone used this on a guitar body with noticeable results?
I was led to believe it helps on those white edges of a dent, the clear lacquer cracks on black bodies , but I can't see any improvement

It's just a cutting compound and not a very good one at that. It will make no appreciable difference to dents or lacquer that has cracked through. It might remove small surface scratches but will likely leave equally irritating pig tail swirls in its place. Use 3M Fast Cut and then 3M FinesseIt for cutting/polishing, they're vastly superior to T-cut.

I use G3 and Maguires and I'm happy with them, I was wondering if it was effective in colouring the cracked lacquer.
It would only ever be used on spot fixes though.
