Wanted:60's early 70's mustang, duo, musicmaster neck
What's Hot
On the lookout for any of the shortscale necks, preferably from the 60's...musicmaster, jaguar, duo sonic, mustang, bronco...gonna be the core of a mustang project I'm putting together, condition unimportant as long as the nut is okay and the frets ain't mangled. Don't wanna pay much more than £250 and would prefer to pay £200,or better still £7.00....just missed out on a musicmaster neck on eBay this afternoon after someone blitzed me with 3 seconds to go.

Also, many - possibly most - 60s necks you see for sale, even the 24"-scale ones, are 'A' width, which is very narrow. As a result 24" B-width necks command a substantial premium. The two things are related because people with guitars with the other sizes upgrade and then sell on the old neck...
All Jaguar and Bronco necks are 24" though, and almost all are B width.
(The Musicmaster neck that just sold for £100 was a 22.5" A width, if it was that one.)

You might be surprised how much difference it makes - I find the As too narrow, and Rickenbackers are my favourite necks...
More strangely, the A width feels worse on the 24" than it does on the 22.5" for some reason - I think being longer, it then feels even skinnier somehow.
Those prices neatly illustrate the difference in value between a 22.5" A and a 24" B though!
This is making me miss all the short-scale Fenders I had
