Les Paul Custom - charity sale(ish)

Gibson Les Paul Custom (Ebony) - listed on here with full description somewhere below for £1600. Never done this before, but with Xmas approaching I want to try and give something to childrens charities. If the Custom sells, i want to keep £1200 (still have my bills to pay!), and give whatever I get over £1200 to a charity of buyers choice. So if its £1600, then £400 to charity. £1500 - then £300 to charity and so on. If a charity or pub want to buy it for auction etc. then £1200 and its yours. It's been played, not immaculate, but well worth the cash. Plenty more pics if anybody wants them. If this is against rules on here please remove. Oh and I dont want to let it go for £1250, I'd like a decent charity donation please.

Problem with this is its gambling - might be laws and ting stopping people being generous.

Simple qualifying question on entry makes it a competition and therefore gets around the gambling issue just like every tv prize thing you can remember.

Dont mind some sort of raffle but had hoped it would find a home with someone looking for a LP Custom, that isn't after a case queen and doesn't mind a bit of gig scarring! Come on, at somewhere over £1200 it must still be in the bargain category.

Admirable idea supes, nice one.

But I think any raffle type sale is fraught with difficulties and traps.

Straight sale with a donation is innovative and, dare I say, both charitable and practical.

There is a bit of a moral imperative built in to donate fully, which may affect how things go though.

As you said, bit of a bargain and a great price for someone.

Flash has gone a bit funny here - its meant to catch a tiny dent, but makes it look like there's loads of scratches.

There's also a tiny mark on the neck which I've tried to capture but again, flash has gone a bit odd. It's a tiny dent, doesn't affect playability and you can't feel it, but I'm trying to be as honest as possible and show every flaw. The 3 orange marks are the flash, the tiny dent is just below that.

Also, regarding ChrisMusics comment regarding the need to make a sizeable donation - I could sell this on ebay, or advertise it elsewhere for between £1400-£1600 and I'm sure it would sell, but then ebay/paypal would take £150 in fees. I'd rather that went to charity. So you don't have to pay £1600, as long as a fair amount goes to charity I'd be happy.
