TRADED!! Gibson Historic R8 Les Paul 1958 reissue

The R8 has now flown the coop, traded for a very nice guitar plus some beer vouchers from a great fella Mr @ossyrocks. I suppose I'll have to do a NGD thread later, which will be my first one on here!

I'm a happy camper. I've was putting the R8 through it's paces yesterday, big chewy Les Paul tone for sure.

As always, I can't help but tinker, so later on I dropped a pair of Sheptone PAF's into it which I got here on the forum from @saxosim

I'm rehearsing tomorrow, so I'll be seeing how it fairs with the band then.

It was a great experience dealing with Nigel too, we did exchange a lot of messages before sorting out the deal, but we got there. 

Accrington to Salisbury and back is one hell of a drive though ! I got through 8 CD's and quite a bit of radio.

The ironic thing is this lovely guitar has been hanging round for 3 months and then as soon as it's sold people are after second dibs!

Not quite, but the dentist has invited me back to have my root canal treatment done again, as the x-ray showed it wasn't right, but I won't have to pay again. My son said that's the worst kind of buy one get one free ever!

And the gumtree goon who emailed me this:

I am still looking but I am sorry to say that i believe you are over value for this Les Paul.  I suppose that for you to sell it without a lot of messing around you will need to substantially reduce your asking price and then I will be  seriously interested.

After I challenged him to find a cheaper R8 in the UK has now emailed me this:

if you still have the guitar then I would like to come to see you and look at the gibson LPaul

And I had two more serious-looking gumtree enquiries on the very day that Rob collected the guitar. That's the way it goes sometimes, I guess. All's well that ends well anyway.
