WTB BACK Westone Concord II SOLD

Out with the new, in with the old.....













Great condition, just a small dink on the face and one or two small ones on the back.
Also there is either a low, or high fret around the 17th/18th, I've not investigated it as yet, I get a nosebleed venturing up there so don't often find it.

This cost me a bargianous £85 + 15 postage
then I bought a Gotoh aluminium tailpiece and gotoh bridge at a cost of £40
so...£100 + postage stock or  £140+NOW SOLD. postage with the gotoh bits.
Obviously collection with cash is bonzer!
I make great coffee too!

I'm right on the verge...

I had a westone Concorde before (see avatar), and this one would be a year of birth guitar for me.  But then... I am really happy with what I've got.  I really have no need for another guitar.  

It's a shame you aren't closer. Hmmm...

I'm sorry, but I can't do it. each time I pick it up I remember how good it is and it really would be a stupid move to sell it, plus it was a birthday present from the good lady and while she understands completely the need to move a few on, I don't want to to tell her this has gone.

I do have another Concord II, maple neck/board and off white body, has had a refret by myself with Jumbo's, it isn't perfect but I'll explain with photos when I get a chance.

Here's the refretted Concord II. 1982.
it came to me in bad shape, the edges of the fretboard had long lost the lacquer and had rotted with filth/acit sweat etc.


The frets were worn badly so I refretted with Boston jumbo fretwire and tru oiled the board. but noticed afterwards that I'd taken a wee bit too much off the fretboard edge with the fret-bevel file, resulting in the high E string now and again slipping off the fret edge around frets 5-6-7-8.


The headstock had been sanded and badly oiled so I refinished that in off white enamel rattlecan, I made a waterslide decal and finished with acrylic lacquer, the waterslide wrinkled a wee bit, but it does the job.




It does feel good to play, but doesn't get much action due to the fretboard and my Squier CV handles my maple board/single coil needs.
Oh and it came to me with an extra hole in the scratchplate, with a free floating mini toggle switch inside!

Raised the action from ridiculous to perfectly playable which has almost sorted the one low fret-choking in the Hofner.
Been playing it quite a bit these last few days, what a great wee guitar, modders dream!

EDIT: The Gotoh bridge and tailpiece have been withdrawn as they will be going in my Westbury Standard.
So the Hofner is all stock.

Lol, I've already seen the thread. If I had any spare cash I'd probably buy it but alas! I is broke as a motherfucker!

 

They do a really good jazz tone too, stick it on the neck pickup  and roll off about 1/3 of the tone.
