Joys of Vegas?

What's Hot
So I'm off to Vegas for 5 weeks with work in January and wondered if anyone here had been and could recommend any decent guitar stores/music venues to visit. Had a look at gigs while I'm there and nothing too tempting to go and see so might look at live pubs etc...

Also should have a grand or two to spend on new gear so might come back with some new toys!

Any recommendations/warnings?

drinks are free all the time you are gambling in the casino.(that includes the slots as well as the tables) just a dollar or two tip to the waitresses will keep them topping you up regularly!

crapps tables return the best odds and roulette the worst.

sod the guitar shops, just blow all ya dough and get smashed!  happy holidays

When I went about 8 years ago, I visited Cowtown Guitars.  Really friendly owner who had some really interesting guitars.  Another one was AJ's guitars.  Have fun!

Be careful if you decide to buy a guitar in the US.

Obviously you will have to try and get it put in the stewards cupboard on the flight as it won't travel well in the hold unless you buy a flightcase for it and overhead lockers are generally a no no.

On your return to the UK customs will probably want to charge you the 20% VAT too.

I have looked at bringing back guitars from the US before as there are some very tempting prices but gave it up as a bad job.

Like Neil, I've never really found anything cheap enough to be worth hauling back.

I go every year, cowtown has moved and isn't all that and there is a Sam Ash but well off the strip. no good music venues for rock, best is hard rock hotel to escape all the techno for a bit and buy cheap buckets of beer. Don't pay for club tickets off of anyone as its a con. You can pm me for anything else you want to know, been going the last 9 years.
