Sorted: Humbuckers (hot, cheap and black or zebra)

Recently bought a low cost mess around bit of fun guitar but would like to tidy it up a little so am looking for a pair of humbuckers, preferably pretty hot / modern / rock / metal ish, in good condition with black or zebra bobbins...

Price... cheap!

how about a pair of Entwistle Dark Stars for £25? red hot and they clean up really, really nicely should you need em to.
or.. a pair of Partscaster Super 70's super distortion copies... or so they say.
16k bridge, 15k neck. and as big as I've ever used, plenty bass but not massively wooly... £15 the pair (£40 new)

Or I have a pair of old dimarzio k10's @£55 delivered, 8.7k ish each and bright, great in a mahogany body, can scream and dialled back can warm up lovely.

I've got a couple from a cort guitar. Quite hot, sounded good. £16 Or a couple from an ibanez road core again hottish, sounded great, only changed as I wanted chrome. £22 Both uncovered

@thomasw88 - I suspect your pups are probably of a similar level to the ones I'll be removing, but maybe better condition - are they black? Any spec?

the dark stars are the original ceramic version, not the ND.

the ibby ones are these:

the cort ones were from a m200.  they were fairly decent.

I have some Bare Knuckle and Oil City Masterwound ones - maybe not as cheap as some offerings but very very tasty

I won't list them all but mostly zebra and a few blacjk ones too ....what would take your fancy tone wise

Given the value of the guitar I'm probably aiming for lower value pups than the ones you have @FelineGuitars - interested in stuff like Iron Gear, Tone Rider etc

Tonally really looking for that 80s hair metal sound and I have a preference for zebra bobbins....

For that sort of sound I'd recommend the Irongear Hot Slag pickups Matt. I've installed them in a couple of guitars and they're very impressive for the price.

Ummm I'd been thinking about a Hot Slag and if it's good enough for you @drwiddly then it's good enough for me.

Not a bad price either at £26 each but if I could get a used pair that would be great.

@Sarge - do you have a picture of the Partscaster Super 70's super distortions or can you tell me about the condition? Also, do they come with screws/ springs etc, and is the £15 posted?

Yep they're £15 posted, paid £20 each for these separately and used them for just a couple of weeks while my others were in the post.
