Les Paul studio pickup rings????

   I have a 2006 les Paul studio with humbuckers. Id like to put some mini humbuckers in the guitar but can't find any humbucker to mini rings that will fit the guitar. The studio rings are smaller than say a standard les Paul which you can find rings for.  I was thinking of making some out of wood but I don't have the tools to do so nor am I a carpenter.:( I did make a flat ring out of some plastic sign material but it just doesn't look very good. Do you guys have any ideas or know of where I can find some rings that will fit?

Do you have a picture of your current mounting rings? I am having trouble visualising how they might be different from regular Les Paul mounting rings, so it is difficult to propose a solution.

Anyway, I am certain someone on here could make something along the lines of the 'goof hiders' fitted on some 70's Les Paul's, if that would solve the problem (though it sounds like you have already tried this with the sign material).

The only other things I have seen were from GuitarFetish.com but presumably they won't fit if your guitar is not standard? Or possibly cuicuicacustomguitars on eBay could make something, as they make some for P90's.

In what way are your pickup rings smaller?

The rings on a Studio are the same size as any other Gibson Les Paul with full size humbuckers.

 I'll take some measurement after work.  I believe " modern " Les Paul guitars have smaller pickup rings. I picked up a pair of adapters of eBay and they where to big.  I've done a bit of research in trying to find the right rings. Might just end up making my own at some point. The wife shot me down about buying anything right now.  My daughters starting school and all that jive.  I'm still going to try and find something for the future. I'm really diggin the mini I have in the neck even though it a cheapie I want to do it tight so if I sell the guitar at some point it could be converted back by the next owner. I don't see a sale ever happening but you never know....

I can't post pictures from my photobucket account using my iPhone. I had this same issue on another sight that used Vanilla forums. The moderator fixed it some how and I was able to post pics. Any chance someone can fix it on the is forum?

That's the standard Gibson size (or near enough)

My amp testing guitar is an Agile les Paul copy. This guitar has the bigger humbucker pickup rings. Kind of odd stuff. I'm heading to the wood working store to see what they have. Still not sure what I'm going to do. Hmm

Once you have copied the url from imgur, instead of pasting it directly into the thread, click the small black file icon on the menu bar.  That will open a drop down box.  Paste the url into that and the photo will appear in your thread
