Yep, it isn't too fussy, nice balanced dial. They also look nice with a white face, but I think I prefer the black.

I was extremely close to pulling the trigger on one a little while ago, but I bought an R8 Les Paul instead. That was sold long ago, so I wish I had bought the watch!

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

As a boy, I always wore watches. A lovely Timex that was waterproof to 6 meters or something with glow in the dark hands.

I starts d work typesetting in my teens and stopped, as I found the strap restricted movement of my wrist with different heights of keyboard and typewriter. It was especially bad when it came to playing guitar.

I got good at telling time without a watch, but that's fallen by the wayside now I carry a mobile phone

This is my everyday knockabout watch, an auto diver.

Very difficult to beat Seiko at the price point.

My collection is mainly vintage and have a soft spot for Omega Speedmasters.

I made a little site about mine some years ago if anyone is interested.

Actually if you look it doesn't fit!

    Should be a 22mm but I only had a 20mm spare.

BTW I've got a vintage Heuer diver..

    It is lovely.

Some people say it's a poor man's A Lange & Sohne, see below, but I think they're lovely in their own right.

Glashutte Original are expensive enough. A Lange & Sohn are not really affordable outside of winning the lottery!

007! That's the first watch I got into when I started my research (a week ago).

    Still might pick one up.

I've moved on to flight watches now. This is going to ruin me. :(

    Sorry! Lovely though aren't they.

The Panomatic Lunar is one of those watches that looks lovely on a bracelet, or leather strap too. I really like it on steel.

The watch itself is expensive, but I think last time I enquired about the cost of the bracelet it was over 2k and that was in 2013.

I've been mad about watches ever since I saw a Rolex Explorer ad in National Geographic when I was at school.
So I started off with Rolex - Daytona, Sub, GMT, Air-King and then moved on to Panerai and IWC.
I currently own a 2015 Rolex Explorer and a Tudor Heritage Chrono. They're well built, reliable and not too flashy.

The main problem I had when collecting high end timepieces was getting them serviced. It's expensive, slow and I lost count of the number of issues when the watches were returned - thumb prints under the crystal, hair and dust on the dial, poor polishing, mis-aligned hands...drove me mad.

I still lust after all kinds of watches, particularly Vacheron Constantin, Breguet and Zenith but I'm keeping the collection small and simple.

I think I've posted these before, but I'm a big fan of Glashutte Original.

Those are nice. I don't like many "nice" watches; they tend to be too chunky or too fussy. Those are both quite clean and elegant looking.

I don't know why, but it's a lot nicer to my eyes than the A Lange one. I think it's that I don't like roman numerals much.

Personally I really don't like that particular  design of the GO's or Langes.

The actual time telling section is so small you may as well wear a ladies cocktail watch!

Coupled with the giant date, the huge sub seconds dial and loads of spare dial face.....

They look quite impressive on a magnified pic as above but as a wearer............

Each to their own :) I can't stand NATO straps but they seem to be quite popular (that isn't meant as a dig btw).

I can understand where you're coming from. I just really like that style of face.

Just checked your site. What a lovely collection. I'd love to be in a position to collect Omega watches. They're the brand that appeal to me the most. Hopefully a Speedmaster will be in the bag next...

Thank you. I find them very interesting.

Can't go wrong with a Speedy. Get the basic 3570.70 model, it is an icon.
