I think I agree with that.

Deftones - so much about them I should like, but all together, just doesn't do it for me.

I felt the same, until I realised there was nothing wrong with only liking one or two tracks per album (or thereabouts). Be Quiet And Drive, Minerva, Diamond Eyes, Cherry Waves... all good.

Actually, that's true of a lot of bands. Faith No More spring to mind - a few amazing gems in a sea of awfulness.
First 2 albums had a much higher quality ratio I reckon.

    Deftones or Faith No More?

In the case of FNM the quality dipped after Jim Martin left, or was sacked, or whatever happened.  I don't think he was one of the main writers but he gave them something they have lacked ever since.

  • Tomahawk I think captures some of the finest FNM feel. Totally agree they lost the magic when Jim left.

    Scorpions
    Avenged sevenfold
    Queen
    Rush
    Gojira
    Nirvana

All bands I should (theoretically) like.
All bands I can take or leave.
Except Nirvana which is unlistenable shite.
