New build - a Strat with a top

I've built a couple of Strats from kits or pre-made components, so decided to build one from wood. Mahogany body, Korina top, hardtail and a neck from China that cost £32 (delivered) and is actually very good.

My routing has improved since my tutorial with Mark Bailey. I routed the cavity all the way through the body as the top covers it.

I had a large two piece top, and could adjust where the join was to position the black stripes through the horns.

The jack socket is in the side, and the second tone control is a push pull that adds the neck pickup. Pickups are Iron Gear Vintage 6TS which are great for blues. I oiled the body using the @WezV slurry method - the mahogany colour is very rich and I'm pleased with the way it contrasts with the Korina.

Good job I'm a regular visitor to the gym as it weighs in at 4.5 kg!
