Computer guys - controlling laptop from smartphone/iPad

RockerRocker Frets: 4978
Android smartphone, Apple iPad. My laptop is connected to my hi-fi, running Foobar2000 or Jplay to play music from a USB external hard drive. Laptop on Windows 7. I would like to control the music player software remotely using the smartphone or iPad. What software do I need and how do I get the devices "talking to each other" Thanks

You could try TeamViewer on both devices? It would work well if they're on the same Wi-Fi but in fact they don't need to be, it can be used to remote control eg a laptop at home, from a mobile phone while its out and about using mobile data over the public internet.

I used Jump on my iPad to connect and control a Windows PC and an iMac. Works brilliantly.

  • There's foobar2000 remote app on the google play store. I've never used it (or foobar2000) but its got a good rating so probably worth a try.
