    the z cable makes your guitar sound better thats all i know really,  makes things more dynamic...i have had one for some time now and it is going nowhere....it shapes your tone in a way,  best ask someone who doesnt have the descriptive volcabularly of a mute gimp

    I think the z cable makes up for long cable runs which knock the high frequencies out. Something to do with adding captive load...Don't worry me as I play at home 1ft from my amp :)
