FS/FT Oly White Strat Body with visible grain

Hola !

Right, just got this in trade from a guitar building buddy, it's lovely, nice medium/lightweight Strat body with deep contours, tidy routing, standard Fender neck pocket etc, etc. And what he's done is primer & spray it in Oly White but without grain filling first so it just peeks through the finish, looks killer.

So I was entertaining notions of doing an Ancho Poblano type build with it but truth be told I really dont need ANOTHER unfinished guitar build lying around the house so should shift it on.

Would be looking for £85 plus P&P

As for trades ? well in order to finish off the other unfinished projects I could use
a FAT tele neck or alternatively a Jazzmaster or B&B Strat neck.
I'm also in the market for a small HI Gain Valve head so Jet City JCA22 or something like that ?

Anyone feeling this ?

Currently on hold until Monday for a forum brother but I just wanted to add that I spoke to the guy I got it off of and he tells me that it's a lightweight two piece Swamp Ash with an offset join.

Just got the body out and would say that from the grain marks in the neck pocket that it is in fact Centre Jointed so sorry for the misinformation. I also noticed a scratch/mark on the treble side of the neck pocket which I've photographed here

Possibly.

That said the first two Tele bodies I bought off of Phil at Guitarbuild didn't have any branding but yes, other stuff I've bought since has

So in the spirit of not attempting to mug anyone off I feel I should change my definitive "It's definitely a Guitar Build Body" stance.
 I should probably revise that to;
"Whilst I have been told it was sourced from Guitar Build and have no cause to doubt the vendors word, and further to that the quality of build & finish is certainly equivalent to other GuitarBuild stuff I've had pass through my hands It is, as has been pointed out lacking the distinctive branding so would suggest that if anyone's thoughts on a potential purchase are contingent on it definitely being Guitarbuild then probably best avoided in this instance."

It's lovely - looks like a nicer version of the Rustic Ash fsr Fender put out a while ago.

Not that I'm an expert or owt, but I too have purchased (a few years ago now) Guitarbuild bodies which just had a number in the neck pocket.

Yes, the ones they sold on ebay always had the logo iirc, but I had plenty from them direct that were numbered rather than stamped and according to Phil the direct ones were always the better/lighter wood. Looks lovely either way

Not entirely sure why I'm bumping this as I'm now working away until Dec 2nd but maybe this will be the post that triggers a frenzy amongst you good people to the point that you're all clamouring to buy it by the time of my return..
