Selling my 1971 Gibson ES-345 Stereo. Possibly the most beautiful walnut finish you'll ever see.

It's got replacement klusons and looks like the back of the neck was refinished professionally when the tuners were changed. This is a very neat job as you can't really tell, only a black light picks it up. The ABR is also a replacement. Bigsby was added when the guitar was first bought and has aged in keeping with the rest of the hardware. The rest of the guitar is stock and the harness and pat sticker pickups are original and untouched. Sounds excellent and looks like chocolate! Collection from Ascot, Berks. £2450. NOW £1850!

  • I just soiled myself.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

Lovely guitar.   Had a Walnut '74 for a few years  ....  got GAS and moved it on ... big mistake, still miss it.

    Lovely looking guitar.

I know some can be played "normally" by putting the lead 1/2 way in but some don't respond to that trick (Lord knows why?).
I also understand that the original varitones add a lot of weight, meaning the already weighty thing that is a 70s Gibson is even beefier.

Still, I've always liked the Walnut finish and that's one of the nicest I've seen. Stunning!

This one responds to the 'lead half in' trick. You can also use a Y cable to an ABY box or as intended with two amps (or stereo amp).

This guitar is also lightweight despite the Bigsby and Varitone circuit, I can't remember the exact weight but will weigh it later today.

My birth year and one of my favourite models/colour.

Interested in any part trades e.g a fender 50th anniversary deluxe strat etc?

  • Does it have the skinny nut?

  • Does it have the skinny nut?
I think it's fairly skinny yeah, not like some I've played. You'd have to go pre 1965 to get the full nut width.

  • Always worth an ask! Could you measure it if you get chance?
