Flint before or after Timeline?

I'm eagerly awaiting my Timeline turning up and I'm a wee bit foxed as to where I should put my Flint in the loop. I'll get a Mobius before long too so my trem needs will be covered there, so maybe swapping out for a BlueSky or towards a BigSky might solve my issue, but I really like the 80's reverb on the Flint... if it's not broke, don't fix it etc....

The issue with Flint after TL is that if I go to a stereo amp setup then the Flint only has mono in but Flint before TL, well I don't know what the issue is but it seems like reverb was always placed last on my other boards when trial and error testing sounds.

Anyone have experience of this?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm completely off the mark here. 

In my mind, the order of the 2 effects doesn't really matter. I would guess that the result signal would be the same regardless of which of these two effects came first. This is because the 2 effects work independently and aren't reactive to the signal coming in (unlike dirt boxes).

Chain A: Adding a delayed repeat to a signal with reverb

Ok cool, in previous set ups I've had I thought there was a difference, I guess I have to try out when it arrives, but I'm just in meltdown waiting to get it all set up. Thanks mate.

I don't really believe my own opinion actually. I'm not sure how reverb algorithms work and it is possible that they react to the input level. Someone wiser than myself will chime in soon.

Convention is delay first. Apparently reverb first gets more trippy

I'd pretty much always recommend the delay and then reverb. Having said that, half the joy of having stompboxes is playing around with the signal chain!

The conservative view would be to place the Flint after the Timeline. However, the Timeline does some amazing things so as others have suggested try it the other way round.

The Flint can do stereo in with a stereo lead. 

Experiment and see what you like.

So is that like a 3 way cable? Stereo out from Timeline into mono jack Flint and back out on stereo again?

Maybe stick a wee favourite switch on it too and then no need for a Bluesky! Shame it makes the tremolo kinda redundant, but I'm sure placing it there might find some other aural treasure.

The flint is kind if like on board reverb and trem in your amp, so it kind of makes sense to have the timeline in front. The trem will be more obvious, delay after trem masks the volume changes in delay repeats.

Most demos I see of the Flint set it so the reverb is first and trem last. Is this to do with the way amps were too as it was the first thing I changed, making my reverb last.

Reverb-->delay-->symphonic stuff (essentially chorus). Classic FX500 patch. Reverb into delay does indeed win.
