His YouTube channel states he had been playing guitar for twenty-plus years, but had suffered nerve damage to his left hand that made it very difficult for him to play conventionally. So in 2008, he started playing exclusively with two-handed tapping.
He's really, really bloody good too. Clearly very inspired by Allan Holdsworth, he nails that saxophone-esque fusion sound. In fact, he probably sounds more like a saxophonist than any other guitarist I've ever heard. I don't know how much that says, but it's very impressive.
Here he is doing some Eric Johnson:
Just fabulous. I like to think I'd be that determined in the face of an injury like that.

I notice it's all solo work, I wonder how he is with chords.
Great post, very inspiring to see people overcome injuries that would stop or limit most people from playing.
I was more concerned that the guitar was going to slide off his knee.
Also uses a Strandberg 7-string - I think he likes a headless.
^ No, I don't. I like my open strings available for live, though.
Great player, I spotted him first a few months ago when he did well in one of those YouTube competitions.
The fight against his hand problems and the tapping remind my of Christian Münzner.
Even so, I just worry about those kind of things.
I'm a bag of nerves.
that, though is possible with out the hair tie... I know because I've seen Dave Killminster and Jennifer Batton do that kind of stuff with no help what so ever. although I saw that Jennifer does use one know. I guess because it's much, much easier.
not that I can do it with or without the help mind.
