I need someone to swap out a pickup for me and used to use simon law who has now moved on.

Dave does work on (and build) electrics. For a simple job like that you might see if he'd do it while you wait....otherwise if you end up going to the back if his repair queue you could be waiting a long time - he's very in demand.
