I think each album stands out on its own quite well
But I do kinda see where you're coming from.
I started with Dark Side Of The Moon and now I'm listening to Shuggie Otis - Inspiration Information
However he went from this to become the "soccer mom of jazz guitar" I'll never know.
Their new one ("Like an Arrow") is tooooo country for my liking. After listening to the previews and seeing the price had been reduced, I got the predecessor instead. No regrets.
I really liked "The Whippoorwill", so, definitely a good progression from there
I posted a thread about it a while back, been listening to it a lot again. I honestly think it is one of the best metal albums I've heard.
