Had the album Black Woman by Sonny Sharrock on earlier. One of my favourite guitarists but it is, err, challenging. Suitable for anyone who thinks Derek Bailey is a bit easy listening.

Well I was just in an op shop (to those of you of the British persuasion, a "charity shop" is exactly the same thing) yesterday, and they had a couple of real old Dire Straits albums

The only DS I owned before was a digital download of Money For Nothin' from the Greatest Hits compilation on iTunes.

I thought, as they're only $1 each I'd buy them and give DS a chance. I'm quite intrigued. The guitar playing is soulful, yet quirky. But I'm digging it so far. So good finds.

I got the self-titled album and also "Making Movies"

Electric by The Cult, mainly thanks to the Easyjet advert using Little Devil. Made me realise that I probably listened to Love, Electric and  Sonic Temple waaaaay more than I remember, probably my favourite band of that era and still making good music today.
There is a Rig Rundown with Billy Duffy where he comes across as an all round good egg. Well worth a watch.

I watched the "Captain meets Ken Haas" video from Andertons yesterday and he mentioned them in that video, so thought I'd check them out and I really like this album now!
