I've had the live stuff from Cream's "Those were the days" box set in the car this morning.  The songs are just excuses to get soloing for each of them. Some great stuff from Sir Eric.

Listen To This Eddie - Led Zeppelin 2/6/77. Some sheer brilliance and then some old rope from Pagey. Stellar version of Kashmir though.

The new (to me) Fightstar album. It's rather good.

Drive by truckers. Had their first album and kind of forget about them. This 2016 stuff is great:

Excellent Album. I particularly love the opening track "Ramon Casiano", and "Sun Don't Shine" makes uncomfortable sense after you read the liner notes.
Have you guys seen this- Jason Isbell (formerly of DBT) playing in Boston. Some cool guitars in use too, I particularly like what I think is a Dusenburg(?) on Flying over Water:

  • I've been listening to the new Smith Street Band album.
    Here's the new single:

For some reason I think it's great to hear a singer singing with a strong accent.

I've been listening to Henry Rollins talking about singing with The Ruts. Not very well edited four part talk but quite interesting. I've been listening to some stuff by The Ruts recently so it fills in some gaps in my knowledge as well.

The Lemon Twigs - 2 young brothers with a very young band whose song-writing harks back to Wings, McCartney stuff,10CC etc.

They're not quite Jellyfish but have potential and I'm still getting used to them. They recently played in the UK and got good reviews.

Listening to Roger Scott's (rip) Classic Albums series on 6 Music IPlayer at work. Listened to LZ4 and Beggars Banquet today... Keith and Jimmy justifiably proud of their achievements.

I have been listening to a fair bit of Band of Skulls.

3 for $20 offers are on again at JB Hi Fi here in Australia, and so I picked up their most recent album "By Default" which is pretty good, along with Diesel's latest "Americana" and Gary Clarke Jr's latest (The Story of Sonny Boy Slim...), I haven't listened to those yet but I've listened to all of Band Of Skulls and loved it.

I also have Sweet Sour and Himalayan which are also great albums so... no surprises.

Just listening to Billie Marten. A nice bit of folksy easy listening from a girl from Yorkshire. A bit Laura marlingish.

Robyn Hitchcock's eponymous new LP,  his 21st, is a great listen. It's a full band recording produced by Brendan Benson.
