This guy is honestly a big influence on how I play now. His touch is just wonderful.

Nice playing - but to be totally honest I'm not a fan of that tone. For me it had too much echo and whilst there were some softer sections I found it a little clangy, & by the end it was getting a tad hard on my ears.  Each to their own of course.

For me, Mark Knopfler has one of the best touches of any guitar player I've ever heard.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

What's the word for those one-finger glissando trill things?

Yeah, I don't like it either.

It's one of those tropes in modern playing that REALLY grates on me.

I just want to know what it's called, so I can slag/avoid it!

Actually I agree they are way overused. Same as acoustic tapping and slap harmonics. Still, good video!

It just strikes me as unmusical - like 'look, I'll throw some of these in, just to demonstrate how evolved my technique is'.

I can't imagine ever hearing someone do it and it making the hairs on my arms stand up....

I couldn't get past how majestic and full his head of hair is.

    Nice moustache as well.

Musically it does nothing for me, sorry OP. Wondering how anyone could get their guitar body so bashed up, yet the neck appears undamaged. A case of relicing gone wrong....
