NGD: Cunetto Nocaster Relic/WezV content

NGD, sort of... I got a Cunetto Nocaster ages ago but a few years ago the neck slightly warped - the headstock 'leaned' upwards at the tip necessitating a high action and giving the neck more relief on the treble than bass side. It always bugged me so a few months ago I bought a Musikraft Fat C neck off eBay and popped that on. Fine, except those necks are HUGE and while I like a Gibbo 50s neck and big necks generally, this thing felt massive in the hand. So after a brief exchange of PMs with our very own @WezV I sent him the Musikraft Tele neck and the neck off my CS Strat Relic (10/56 fat soft V, one of my favourite neck shapes) and asked him to reshape the Tele neck to be like the Strat one. What a great job! The guitar is now back in action and playing and sounding superb - the Cunetto Nocaster bridge pickup is outstanding, really ballsy and sounds not unlike a good LP Junior when overdriven. The Musikraft neck may or may not have had a Fender "Telecaster" decal applied by its previous owner, so perhaps it's not a Nocaster anymore - just a bitsa really, or a fake depending on how you look at it.     But it's great to have the guitar back in service. Haven't seen a Cunetto Nocaster for ages - see far more Strats - looks like it still has that dirty worn played in vibe and some meat on the neck - hope it pans out okay for you - looks cool

Thinking about the decal issue, Musikraft necks are licensed by Fender, if that makes a difference...?!

I think it does count for something.  This situation is the reason licensed neck agreements exist.  The license itself stipulates the heel must be stamped, not anything visible.

 Now the same thing doesn't exist for Gibson, but I am fairly sure most wouldn't have issues putting a new Gibson logo on a broken necked genuine guitar as part of the repair.


Its repair and restoration, not faking and forgery.

The logo was already on this neck, but I gladly would have applied one in this situation
