This vid seems to explain it and would appear to make sense . I wouldn’t be surprised if Carl does have a huge influence in the next Episode. My bet is he sacrifices himself to Negan to pull a truce together and save Rick, Maggie and Ezekiel from Lucille. https://youtu.be/RAWuwY4WCDU

  • I’ve not been very engaged. I was told the viewing figures have dropped drastically. It’s just alol relentlessly grim - I need a bit of light relief or diversion ( who says the post apocalypse can’t be fun).

Finally caught up with the current season.... and what a massive crock of shite.

Honestly, I actually want Negan to win - I'm sick and tired of Rick's team having thick plot-armour, and all these magic ninja skills.

But my biggest bug-bear? THERE'S NO GOD-DAMN RECOIL ON ANY WEAPONS.

Carl gets on my nerves . Never liked him. Even when he was a nipper with both eyes he was pain in the arse. Suppose now that there is less of him hes a bit more bearable, just needs to lose another eye, head, torso arms and legs, infact throw him to the Zombies for Christmas.

And as for Eugene - just kill the prick already. Christ, what an annoying character.

  • I'm really glad I've stopped watching. It's been nothing more than zombie-soap-opera for several seasons. I don't think Kirkman has any concept of how to "finish" the story, if there even is one at this point.

It’s still got too many viewers to kill it off at the moment, so the story won’t finish anytime soon IMO. The other problem for the scriptwriters is there are only a few ways the story can go:
    a) all the main characters die
    b) they find a cure for the virus
    c) Rick’s crew find a safe haven, stay there and live happily ever after
or d) the endless rinse/repeat cycle of fighting other communities we’ve got at the moment.
    I’m guessing it’ll be d.  :)

I don't know at what point it becomes uneconomical but it's lowest ever viewing figures were given for the start of this season. There have been some hints that Rick will die, although presumably that's the ace up the sleeve to finish it off.

Yeah I’d heard that rumour too. I think WD is getting close to the end but although the figures have dropped, it’s still a good cash cow. I don’t see Fox dumping the series just yet, but maybe they might put more energy into Fear the Walking Dead in the future. Apparently there’s going to be some crossover between the two series, with Morgan going over to Fear.

Agreed. Mumbling bumbling pain, also someone from the haircut thread please recommend Daryl a barber. He might kill more zombies if he can see where hes going And someone  tell Rick to stop combing his hair with a pork chop Its attracting the Zombies and everyone else!

just got free NowTV with my new Vodafone contract, so watched the series before it vanishes in a couple of days

Not as annoying as the last series, but still way too many implausible events:
    • attacking the sanctuary - they can pick off 2 roof-top saviours with snipers, but when Negan talks to Rick, no one takes a shot, then when they all shoot, they all miss
    • No one shooting underneath cars, as noted
    • Tiger vs handful of zombies
    • stabbing newly turned through the skull, or lopping off half their skull with a sword
    • No one ever kills Negan when given the chance
    • Negan believing that Eugene is intelligent. Why doesn't he ask the doctor to help?
    • Garbage people again with stupid speech and clothes. they are now an arts and craft community????
    • Infinite supply of ammo
    • No one appears able to shoot someone nearby, unless the plot allows it

Plus, no recoil on any guns. Ever.

Until "the bite" the zombies have been as threatening as flies, a pointless distraction from the gun porn and communal violence. It has lost its way ..... gun porn, endless ammo and petrol are my biggest annoyances.

Budget must be tight to kill off the CGI tiger .......
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

I wondered if they killed off the tiger as part of a 'back to basics' approach. Neither those fantasy elements or the endless grimness seemed to be holding viewers. I agree re the gun porn and glorification of violence.
The writer of Hard Sun was on the telly talking about why we like post apocalyptic programmes - the fantasy that we would shake off our cares and woes and that we could be the best we could be. The triumphs and mistakes of the characters helping us fulfill this  - the 'I wouldn't do it that way' type reaction. I think that's a lot of the appeal and the producers shouldn't forget that.

  • I  must say that I used to really like that show and was always waiting for new series. Since last mid-season finale I haven't seen a whole episode - and I have them all recorded so could binge watch anytime. It's just so boring now - I agree with the comments above too: they keep shooting for half of the episode, of course nobody is able to hit any significant target, Neegan's boys from very well organised army are just a bunch of rednecks all of a sudden. And the CGI and special effects in general - are super poor quality for these days modern TV show. Shame.

  • I think this show is hampered by following the comic books. Has anyone seen the new series of fear the walking dead? That has apparently picked up and is on the way to being the better show

I know I'm a bit of a fanboy but that simply isn't true , the CGI is dodgy as hell but the practical FX and the zombies themselves are always outstanding .

I have watched it and its quite good.. My main issue with that show is the weird release schedule..  You get like three episodes then it stops for ages and comes back suddenly and randomly...
