OK ... not so a "gig" - more of a musical distraction for a bank holiday barbecue party.
But, it's still the first time that I'll be playing in public in 31 years.
It all happens 2 weeks today. We (gtr/vcls, bass/vcls, drummer/no-vocals) have a 7-8 song set and are aiming to play for 30mins or so.
It'll probably get video'd (the curse of the smartphone) so I'll try to get a copy if it's worth sharing ...
Wish us luck!!

Good luck with that......
Get the jazz notes out tomorrow, or at least let me play them for you ;-) I'm good with j-notes

What songs are you going to play?
Junior's Wailing (Quo)
Rocky Mountain Way
Teenage Kicks
Baby Baby (Vibrators, c1977)
In My Chair (Quo again)
Milk & Alcohol
Sharp Dressed Man
Boulevard of Broken Dreams (Green Day)
I Knew the Bride (Dave Edmunds)
The last 2 are for "encore" should we get that lucky, and should my voice still be surviving (it's getting better, slowly). Not sure of the running order of the rest of them yet.
Great song!
:ar!
What a coincidence!
Although the Vibs still play it live (AFAIK) and it was pretty much their only ever "hit", I don't remember ever coming across anyone else who recognised or remembered it!!
I do "an interpretation" of the solo
Thanks all.
Have just bought a decent (I hope) external mic for the iPad, so an audio recording at least should be available for fans to buy immediately afterwards
@bigjon - I hope to come along to some more jam nights. Perhaps work out a track or two in advance?
@TTony Good luck with that mate.
As an honorary Cambridge Cartel member you should venture to more jam nights

Final "practice" yesterday. The recording was lo-fi, but it suited the playing ...

@TTony impressively good. You should have played that last week at the jam, I think it would have gone down very well.

Bass & drums needs tightening though.
Thanks Mike - though I think DD was probably closer to reality with "not bad"
To be fair to my bandmates, the drummer would admit that he doesn't play nearly often enough to be "good", and the bassist was just back from 2 weeks holiday in which time he'd done no bassing at all, so he was probably a touch rusty.
It'll all be fine on the night ...
