Put my wudtone trem assembly together

What's Hot
And can vouch for the quality of engineering. Everything is solid and the arm screws on to a point and is then pushed on, and it's totally solid with no play whatsoever.

Nice weight to it, but I'm mostly impressed by how solid it feels.

Can't wait to get it on a guitar.

  • Just installed one myself this week and I'm also very impressed with the quality and fit. The main benefit for me is the increase in sustain and clarity it has given as it's turned a very average, dull sounding strat into  a veritable tone machine.
Highly recommended piece of kit. :)

So is it just a more solid block on the top of the guitar to increase tuning stability and sustain? How much of the original trem does it replace?

It's up to you. I've got the whole assembly - so that's bridge, arm, block, shim and saddles (he supplies callaham saddles), as well as screws.

So is that £89? I'm having silly ideas about a new build.

  • I can't remember. Not cheap, but cheaper than a callaham I think.

The bridge is 50 odd quid, then there is saddles and the block. You could get a cheaper steel block, but I wanted to go overboard.

Let me know what you think when it's on?

  • Will do! It'll be a while, the guitar will be routed and put together in the new year. But I've no doubt it'll sound great.

I sort of want you to say you hate it so I'm not tempted to build a strat I won't use much ;)

  • I doubt that'll happen, but we'll see :)

Yeah, I doubt it too. Looks like quality kit. Maybe you could just lie for my wallet's sake?

  • Well, I just inspected it and it literally fell apart, so I'm assuming the screws are made from cheese. Also, it's giving off a vile odour - raw sewage mixed with chicken.

    Thanks, that's just the ticket!

  • It just called me a pretentious knob.

Tuning is off then. It's obviously a little sharp (sorry).
