I read that fixed bias tubes (silly name?) you have to bias yourself. They don't OD as well and notes sustain less but they're more efficient so that's what they use for higher-wattage amps. [/learning]

My last amp was class A with EL34s, but had a really Fendery clean sound.
Just play stuff and see what you like.

Both take a wide range pedals really well (depends on the pedals, guitars and my requirements though but that's rather the point) and sound different but almost equally great (my favourite is the V6-20 ). Both also sound pretty darn sweet without pedals too it should be said?
Speak to/email Martin about your needs. You could end up with a dream-rig, built in Derbyshire UK for less than a Black Cat, DR Z or a Mesa Dual Rectifier?
I really must get round to fully reviewing both on here , but as you'll have already spotted, there's much love for MJW gear on here and for bloomin good reasons.

The hardest parts are tying down what you want to something sensible, and then the wait (I'm 4 months into the ~6 month wait).

You know I like the clean that you get from Mesa as well but I don't think there is a name for that.
Will you use an external OD to give you more gain if required?
Sounds great!
I'm trying to cram a lot into a little - will be a challenge.

I want the slash (/Nuno/VH/80s) sound on ch2 and a proper cleaning on ch1. None of this clean with a hint of breaking up nonsense lol

Yes, it's now an SDM loop.
It was a simple insert point, no buffer.
