I'd be very interested in some more opinions on this one please? Any users out there?
This is a custom amp build so this exact spec might be limited in quantity out there..... however there are plenty of MJW fans on this forum and if you check out martins Facebook page you'll get e feel for how they sound....

We use the trade mark 'Orion' for one of our finest vehicles- the booted version of the Escort sold fro 1987-1993.

Please cease and desist using our trade mark.

How long did it take from order to receiving it?
Wonder if he'd do something like the Victory V40 but better and with two channels.

Crikey there are loads of MJW reviews on here!
As per my epic "what small head should I buy" thread I'm undecided between Victory, Mesa, Brunetti (man that Singleman head sounds amazing) and MJW was recommended so will check it out in more detail.

What is the "power scaling"....? How low a wattage does it go down to?

It is like an attenuator but works by adjusting the voltage to the power tubes, effectively reducing output. It gives a more natural response to lowering output volume and can go whisper quiet. My suggestion though to all of the above questions, is have a chat to martin, as I'm not sure on his lead times as of this moment.

Current waiting time is around 6 months, estimated.

Pretty much what @Thorpy said, but here's a link to the London Power site FAQ:

    http://www.londonpower.com/power-scaling-faq

It goes down to around 0.1 Watt, i.e. lower than you could ever need and virtually off.

Woah so it goes all the way down to 0.1W and sounds like it does when cranked!? Wow!

If you can do something similar to a Victory V40 but with a distortion channel - I'm sold lol...

@ThorpyFX - how does the boosted (SLO sounding) sound compare to JCM-type amps?
Does this boost cause only more saturation or does it also give you a volume boost?

It is more of a gain boost than a volume boost. It adds an extra gain stage in the preamp to make it sound more like a hot rodded JCM800. Its quite an addictive thing actually!

Crikey... See I'm not sure whether to go full-on JCM or get the option you describe. If that actually got the Slash tone then it sounds like it covers clean, crunch and proper distortion. Else I'd go for full-on Slash JCM.

Daaaamn.... if it can get the Slash-type tones when boost is kicked in... I don't see the point in having a JCM option at all as you have it ALL there ! Did you ever do any demo vids / clips?

I am... in discussion with Martin. Big thing is plexi vs jcm, that's the major in deciding factor for me. Hopefully proper dual channel doesn't mean two transformers as right now the 12kg weight he quoted is perfect...

Ooooooh, I can get a plexi sound and boost it to JCM.

Or a JCM and boost it to SLO. Which is what you've got.

Without boost (JCM mode) do you think that covers the Slash tone? If so, I'd get plexi/boost..... else it's JCM/boost.
