  •     Thank you Andy.  I spent three hours at the father in-laws making these. He has a little wood working shop in his basement with all the right tools. I just had to figure out how to use some of them. lol
Need to find a good stain and sealer for the wood and of course some pickups.:)

  • @baddog01 that is very nice work. I am pleased you have a solution and I am certain they will look fantastic when finished. I love that pick guard too!

  • Thanks CasperCaster. I thought pine would would be a good choice for a first attempt at making these.  I might have to drill the screw holes bigger. I'll check when I get home later today.  I'll also need to get some longer mounting  screws. And if  for some reason I don't like the way it looks I'll just make them again out of so different wood. At least I know I can make them with ought butchering them. :)

  •      I'm thinking about getting some Seymour Duncan's but I'm not sure. They can get pretty pricey :( I guess I could look for some stock gibsons too. They do pop up on eBay from time to time.

thanks for the kind words Deadman.

They do have some flaws, but since this was my first attempt I'm really pleased with the outcome. Here is a pic with some stain on the pieces.

Not it sure if I want to go darker or leave them alone. It took 3 coats to the pickguard to get it to match the rings. Well, it comes close anyways. My intent was to match the rosewood neck but now I'm not sure I want to do that anyways. I plan on installing them on the guitar and hanging it on the wall. This way I can look at it for a few dais and see if I want to go any darker. Hmm
I'll post some pics of them on the guitar when it's hanging on the wall.

I'm looking for a set of gold Seymour Duncan Deluxe Mini Humbucker. At $280ish they are a little pricey.

    Thanks
    Keith
