Does it happen to be blue and cost over £400?

It's grey and cost considerably less on the classifieds.

  • Brigadier? If so, thank you. I was getting dangerously close for a moment.

Tis a Flint so you are still at risk!

Also if you are thinking about the Brigadeer I know BluesyDave to be a decent bloke.

Nope haven't seen him, but I'll check him out.

This is how my board looks now.
    It's getting close to perfect.

Had a very brief go with it this evening.

The spring verb is brilliant and probably what I'll use most of the time.
The 80's verb is extremely cool and can do some nice ambient shimmery stuff when you crank it.
Didn't have as much time with the plate, but it seemed decent.

The valve trem was exactly what I was looking for. Probably the nicest trem sound I've had. That makes it a keeper as I use loads of trem.
The photocell is a lot harder edged. Probably better for the "What's the frequency kenneth" type stuff. Probably not something I'll use a lot.
The harmonic was definitely the joker in the pack as it's really unlike any trem I've ever heard it's more like a phasey univibe type thing and I can imagine using it quite a bit for some "No Quarter" type sounds, or some organ style comping.

My overriding thought was just how nicely it sits in the mix. It really blends well without sounding artificial in any way.

This might be 2+2=5 but organ style comping got me thinking Danny Gatton and he was a harmonic trem/ brownface Fender user I think.
There is another recent discussion on here on harmonic trem and to get a good dedicated pedal to do that is circa £150 , so that Flint is paying for itself already. Sort of.

Yeah I'm not sure I'd bother with any of the other Strymon pedals considering the size and cost, but I use loads of trem and I was already planning on buying a HoF so it really wasn't such a daft idea once you factor in the Harmonic mode being a pretty good vibe.

I got one a couple months ago, absolutely delicious. Although if I ever get a Mobius I'll likely trade it for a Blue Sky.

    I've been using it today.

The big surprise is that it might also be my favorite phaser. The phase trem is the sound I've always wanted, but never got from most phasey / vibey things.
