Gibson 2016 HP models - quick question...

What's Hot

The HP variants of this year's Gibsons have the e-tune, metal nut and, in some cases, a sculpted heel.

Reading between the lines of waffle on Gibson's website, am I correct in thinking that the HPs have the 2015 width neck?  In Gibson's own words, "wider soloist neck width", as opposed to "historic original 1 11/16" neck width" - are these essentially 2015 guitars with the odd tweak then, to use up stocks of necks and nuts I guess?

    I think that's right.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

Not sure what model you're referring to but I own a 2015 Trad and played a 2016 HP LP and the HP I played definitely didn't have the same neck width as the 2015 range but depending on the model this might be different. It should say on the Gibson site.

Just looked it up as I was curious

    2015 standard - Width: 1.795"

    2016 HP Standard - Width: 1.745"

    2016 T Standard - Width: 1.695"

I was looking at the Flying Vs in particular, there's some nice Black Friday offers on them.  Gibson website is silent on the HP model's actual neck width though.

Looks the same as the standard HP. So slightly wider than the T models but not as wide as 2015.
