    Shame about the headstock decal.
This is not an official response.

To be fair it has no fret markers, a maple board and 22 frets. All things that fender have never done on a jazzmaster

If fender could modernise the jazzmaster properly I would have happily got my wallet out.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I'd live with that  =) I like that creamy finish, what colour is that ?
I will have to refer you to @lamf68 on that one. I think I asked for translucent blonde...

    Colour is actually called.

Needless to say I haven't had a lot of people request it since I knocked it up. Hard to gauge what it looks like from the name!
Wish you had checked that name hadn't already been taken before you used it - Hate to tell you but expect a stiff letter from the legal department at  Dulux sooner than later...

You don't think it is fair comment coming from someone who works at Fender?!

  • Lovely looking thing, but agree on the decal. Better to have your own name on it :)

You'll probably find the equivalent Dulux colour is called 'Gauze Bandage'.

Lovely guitar btw Jack. I've got to confess, I think I'd be struggling for a while without dots!

    No.

It's not for sale, so what is on the headstock is nobody's business.

  • @dogload I still have makers across the top of the neck. It's really no issue at all. I just always felt the black board dots look a bit cheap on maple

  • That's lovely. It's my favourite finish on a Fender style guitar (my MJT Strat is in a similar shade). I'd love an Esquire in this colour too. Fantastic job @lamf68 .

Ha! Well I think I could just about manage with the side markers - none at all and I'd be pushing the limits of what could be described as 'creative' atonal playing!

Hang on! Are you saying my Strats look cheap? :p
