What real relic'ing looks like

What's Hot

Mike Stern's Yamaha signature, the original one. Must have travelled the world a few times and must have had a million notes played on it. Could use a good clean, too.

That can't be right, I thought reliced guitars had to look like they've been attacked by a blind man with a Dremmel multi tool!

If it doesn't smell of BS&T (blood sweat and tears) then it's not real...

An old school mate of mine - he's in Oxford-based band Chasing Daylight .. he's had this guitar for years and years so the finish is all down to him playing ..

Stern's Yamaha prototype probably doesn't have a nitro finish, mind...

Sadly, the guitar that meets that definition of "real" is this one: https://a3-images.myspacecdn.com/images03/30/f869853c25804f33807c0dcd2c56ea46/300x300.jpg Stolen from Mike at gunpoint years ago. :(

Mike replaced his stolen guitar with a custom made by Michael Aronson which he really liked. This is the guitar modelled by Yamaha.

I have one and it's a versatile guitar. The nitro finish dulls and wears off after a while.

I never understood why you'd name a band after 'time of the month?'

Mike Sterns spare bedroom could do with a clean and tidy up too.........
