To be fair, it's got good proof, it was actually used extensively by Matt in the early days, and Muse have a very strong following.

Don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility to sell for a lot of money - if it was one of Matt's Manson's up for sale, they'd sell for a fair bit I'd imagine...

Most of these expensive used by someone famous guitars are just used once at some behind closed doors gig, but this has been in music videos and filmed live performances, it's certainly got more appeal than that ridiculous Fratelli-Tele and the John Squire LP that have been doing the rounds.

I read that quickly and thought £1600 that's not that bad...haha
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

  • Does a letter of proof (which isn't signed) from a photographer, not Matt or a band representative, count though? Anyone could have knocked it up on their pc.

  • Looks fake.

Anyone could get a black Peavey Wolfgang EVH, put a bit of tape and some dings in it and claim it was that guitar.

No COA, no buy. Why is it in Sydney, and for sale on eBay UK?

Also seller has only 75% positive feedback...

    Something fishy going on...

I don't think it will be fake, because why go to the bother of copying that guitar? It's not like it's actually going to sell for the £13900 its now at.

I'll ask my mate, as he techs all Matt's guitars. He'll know if it is his old one.

    UPDATE

Just spoken to him and he thinks without any solid proof then it isn't worth anywhere near that.

Here is a photo of a guitar I'm selling that used to belong to Jimi Hendrix.
I acquired it from an award winning architectural photographer who happened to be in the audience when Jimi burnt and smashed the guitar before throwing it into the crowd.

Looks like it belonged to Pete Townsend, at some point..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

What's best for tone - gorilla tape, gaffa tape or duck tape?

Presumably duck tape gives a better Strat 'quack'

Slightly more seriously, the important difference between Gaffa Tape and Duct Tape is that Gaffa Tape is designed to be removed without residue.
