(The best bit is his Guitar tech. If I was doing that size of show I would want Ian)
I don't like his music and he comes across as a bit of a smarmy plug when interviewed but if anyone is going to need a decent rig it is a pro player who has made a decent chunk of change from writing and performing music such as him. He has more need and justification than most.
You're new here aren't you?
I'd maybe even double down and have the guts of something else put inside it just to really blow some minds.
Yes, it's expensive, won't fit in an estate car and is a bit overkill for your covers gig at the Dog and Doughnut, but that's not what it's for. If something goes wrong down at the pub you can stop for ten minutes, dash out to the van for your bag of spare bits and fix it yourself, but I can't imagine John boy's going to have that luxury next week at Madison Square Gardens.
Or maybe he will, but it's a bloody long way to the van.

I really enjoy these pictures of big FX rigs.
They appeal to the OCD side of me - I'd love to build something that size and make it as neat as possible.
Good for mayer I say - he's got the money to do it and there's obviously he's got a reason to do so.
I've never actually hear a record of his though. All I know is he was dating that Rachel lass from friends and Katy Perry.
