The pickup and guard on these melody makers must be made of slightly different materials as on pretty much all the Pelham blue versions I've seen in person they appear to age differently with a contrast in the colours. The filter and phone camera did make them look whiter in the pics than in real life as well.

The balance of this on a strap with the smaller headstock is definitely an improvement with no neck dive. I'm sure that's what Gibson were trying to correct when they designed them and it wasn't simply a lucky coincidence
