My Trading Feedback | You Bring The Band
Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after youAnyway, his clips were taken down from YT, especially live footage, but they're back up again (2 clips from Jools in the mid-90s) but it made me listen to that first album. He's a funky, soulful, psychedelic/Jimi, Marvin Gaye bit of genius who deserved so much more and having seen him live, he was absolutely fabulous.
Last I heard, he was MD and bass player for Gnarls Barkley and one his tracks, "Lovelight" ended up on a Robbie Williams' album and was a single.
- Live on Jools
Album tracks
- good place to start
No I'd never heard of them either but one of the tracks came up on Spotify in the pub the other day. Released in 1971 but actually recorded in 1970. The band had actually split up before the album was released. Vocalist Peter French went on to Atomic Rooster. He reformed Leaf Hound some years ago. I'm not sure how many of the original members are in it; from what video footage I've seen - not many. Apparently original vinyl copies of the album now fetch several thousand Pounds.
Hard to hear it properly in this video, check it out on iTunes.
His guitar work is always interesting, as is his production. I really like the sound of this new album after being disappointed with everything following "Write it on your Skin"
This is the other side of me that likes things a bit more mellow. Listening to lots of Newton, Seth Lakeman, Kim Churchill and some other similar things.
Most enjoyable listen since Organic Halluicnosis. There have been good tracks on Carnival is Forever/Blood Mantra but I honestly think Anticult is a stronger album overall.
Yes the style isn't the same but anyone who cares about that could just go listen to the earlier stuff instead of clogging up the YouTube comments sections...
