I don't know if it's always done this or if all guitars have always done this but I seem to have become aware that if I turn the volume knob on my Pawn Shop 51 down to zero there is a small but audible thunk noise through the amp. Seems to happen plugged into my practice amp ( via the slightly wonky lead that's lived plugged in for years) or through my live set up. Not really a problem for anything I do with the band but is it just me? Is it a symptom of anything? That kind of thing.

Probably worth inspecting the ground path for continuity - including the physical connection between the jack socket and the output cable. Clean the pots with Servisol electro-lubricant. Rotary leaf selector switches are notorious for introducing noises whenever their contacts are broken and remade.
