I know, I don't think I can tolerate the weird looks but it looks cool inside. The Yeti looks like something from the mid 80s
There's something about this Cactus that catches my eye...
New car for the wife?
Sounds like a good swap, can you get something modern with a nice body and lots of gadgets?
Loving it
Yes, the battered old bus has been thrown around town on a Saturday night by many joy riding lads over the years and had plenty of grubby handed technicians poking around the exhaust. Well past it's best, loose and creaky, and needs upgrading to a newer model.
The old car is showing it's age too.
Yes, some nice tidy Polos around on Autotrader with DAB and other bits and bobs for that budget. The standard spec ones looks a bit plain but some of the sportier ones look OK. Added to the shortlist.
The Hyundai i20 seems to get decent reviews. Very well equipped and you get a 5 year warranty with them. Otherwise the Fiesta is the best of the small hatchbacks, but that makes them a bit more expensive.
Bit rough over bumps mind.....
How about a Mazda 2? They're meant to be good.
1998 Renault Clio
1999 Citroen Xsara Picasso
2003 Citroen Berlingo
2003 Citroen C2
2005 Citroen C4
2005 Citroen Xsara Picasso
2016 Citroen C4 Picasso
I also have owned Ford Fiesta(s), Volkswagen Golf GTI and a Mazda RX8 that had issues.
The old cliches of Japanese reliability, French unreliability, German engineering etc. are just that. Modern car production design, engineering and manufacturing methods are all pretty much advanced to a point where things either go wrong or they don't regardless of manufacturer.
I believe regular and prompt servicing along with home checks and taking good care of a car pretty much keep the wheels rolling.
Not had a lemon yet, been owning cars for 30+ years, maybe I've been lucky.
