This is still the GREATEST mark up/piss take in the history of auction chancers though in my opinion....

I like the eBay description of the Fender bass. "Refinished from Fiesta Red to original by Clive Brown." It looks like Fiesta Red now!
If the instrument has been refinished, normally, that would detract from its perceived monetary value.
The trouble is these guys are slowly pushing up prices whether we like it or not as unless you are on a forum like this many people use Ebay etc as a benchmark of what you can expect to pay for an older guitar.
All that said despite being on here and reading most of the decent posts I first heard of the Nottingham place this week.
As for the Clive Brown refinsh this guy must of refinished most of the 2nd hand vintage guitars on the UK market :-)
It seems you just add those words in and that legitimises the fact that its a refinish no receipt of documentary evidence.
Hey ho
When buying vintage or older guitars never did the expression caveat emptor apply.
"All guitars are left to rest for a few days, to make sure there are no niggles before listing. "
So it can't be the same one, the auction was only on Thursday.
Good luck to the seller, it's a free market, but I don't see where a buyer would come from at this level.
