Epiphone Sheraton -- very versatile and not ball-breakingly expensive. Classic look but different.
Or... Gibson non-reverse Firebird.(there are different flavours and some look cooler than others).

For someone in a Brit pop/ indie band maybe a current Burns would tick a lot of the boxes.
Fret King - the Ventura is the wackiest ( yer chap in Manic Street Preachers sometimes seen with one)although they've a few odd looking ones. Not the best at keeping their value but only a fraction of the budget here new.
A Gibson LP BFG (barely finished guitar)... I had a Gary Moore one... Man what a weird and wacky guitar probably the strangest Gibson I have ever had... The issue for me is that the neck was a fat 50s one which I don't get on with which is a shame as I loved everything else about it...
One of the weirdest things about it is the carving on the top.. Im not even sure what you call it.. It sort of looks like its a pattern in the stain but they are actually small grooves.. I heard that they do it by doing a first pass or two on the CnC machine and then just don't do any more and leave the bumps it makes...
This was my Gary Moore version

I also LOVED the pickup combo of a Burstbucker 3 and P90.. That thing sounded monstrous and had the most interesting middle position sound I have ever heard on a Gibson. It sort of sounded like the pickups were fighting each other and you could hear it.. But in a good way
If they ever do one with a 60s neck I will HAVE to get one.....
