Hi all,
I originally purchased through Rainbow Guitars (USA) in Nov 2014. All told, it cost me just over £2,650 to import this guitar into the UK. I'm asking £2,000 £1,900 for it.
There's not a mark or scratch on the guitar, never gigged, well looked after - it's in absolutely new condition. There's not another one like this on this planet, it's a true one-off creation from Jackson's USA custom shop. Legendary Jackson Custom Shop master builder Mike Shannon was responsible for hand carving the special deeper heel cut!
The trem cover/back plate is obviously included in the sale, (as is the hard case), and the custom shop hang tag (initials of who built what on the guitar etc.).
Cash on collection would be preferred... I will post to you, but only if it's sent fully insured.

Rainbow Guitars is very proud to introduce our second run of Jackson Custom Shop SLHS guitars. This time we went with Maple fretboards and colored binding for a truly unique look that steps out of any crowd, and features a tone that will stand in front of any mix. So before we discuss build specs, I have to give “props” to the Jackson Custom Shop who has outdone themselves on these guitars. Jackson matched our “mocked up” color schemes to the “T”, and in fact, had to source a binding manufacturer to custom make our colored binding - Thank You Jackson.
Lets begin… We started with a Maple fretboard on
a Jackson “Speed Neck” and then, upon Jackson’s recommendation, fretted with a
medium fretwire. These frets are the same that Eddie Van Halen uses on his EVH
guitars, they are skinnier, and allow more space between frets for maximum
shredding, especially in the higher registers. There is no finish on the back
of the neck, giving that classic, smooth raw wood feel that started the Metal
scene in the 80s. This neck plays great, and also contributes an articulate,
biting attack to your tone that will instantly remind you of your favorite 80s
Metal gods.
The pickups in the Jackson SLHS series are pure
classics. The bridge pickup is a DiMarzio PAF Pro, and has been used by Steve
Vai, Joe Satriani, and Paul Gilbert (to name a few) before they had their own
signature pickups. The PAF Pro has a very clear and articulate sound with a lot
of soulful character. This is a medium output pickup that allows notes to be
heard clearly even during extremely fast picking techniques. No more “chunk
sound” every time you pick high notes. The neck pickup is a DiMarzio HS-3 made
famous by Yngwie, we all know how good this pickup sounds, and it is also a
perfect complement to the PAF Pro. This guitar has all of our guitar heroes’
sounds at the flick of a switch, and we moved that switch to where the volume
knob used to be, so now you can easily switch between bridge and neck pickups
during a solo, something not possible on a standard Soloist. And that pesky
Soloist volume knob… we moved it to a brand new location that’s out of the way
but still easy to grab.
Here at Rainbow, we know if you’re going to go
bold, you need to go all the way, and that’s exactly what we did. The Jackson
Custom Shop SLHS Soloist Custom is a shred machine designed for extreme
playability, inspiring tone, and looks that kill. If you see a color you like,
grab it before it’s gone, you will not be disappointed. Shred fast, and shred
accurately. - Scott.
